Nagelsmann Announces Preliminary DFB Squad for Euro 2021
Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann has revealed his preliminary squad for the upcoming Euro 2021 tournament. The squad includes a total of 26 players, with six players to be cut before the final 23-man squad is announced.
The squad features a number of Bayern Munich players, including goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, defender Joshua Kimmich, and forwards Serge Gnabry and Thomas Müller. There are also a number of players from the Premier League, including Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gündogan and Chelsea defender Antonio Rüdiger.
Nagelsmann has selected a number of versatile players for the squad, with several players capable of playing in multiple positions. This will give the coach plenty of tactical flexibility during the tournament.
Germany have been drawn in Group F for Euro 2021, alongside France, Portugal, and Hungary. The team will open their campaign against France on June 15.
