Emmanuel Moseley Injury History

Detroit Lions CB Emmanuel Moseley's Season Ends with ACL Tear

Moseley Suffered Injury in Week 1, to Miss Remainder of Season

Lions Defensive Back Sidelined with Third Major Injury in Three Years

Detroit Lions cornerback Emmanuel Moseley's season has come to an abrupt end after tearing his right anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers.

Moseley, 28, underwent an MRI on Monday which confirmed the injury. He will undergo surgery and miss the remainder of the season, according to sources. The injury marks the third major setback for Moseley in the past three seasons.

In 2022, Moseley tore his left ACL in Week 5 and missed the rest of the season. He rehabilitated and returned to training camp this year, but suffered a torn pectoral muscle in practice this week. That injury was initially expected to sideline him for a few weeks, but sources now indicate that he will be out indefinitely.

The loss of Moseley is a significant blow to the Lions' defense. He has been a reliable starter since joining the team in 2021 and has been a key contributor in their improved performance this season. The Lions will now have to find a suitable replacement for Moseley, with Jerry Jacobs and AJ Parker among the potential options.

Despite the setbacks, Moseley remains optimistic about his future. He released a statement on social media expressing his disappointment but vowing to come back stronger.

"It's tough to go through this again, but I'm not going to give up," Moseley said. "I'll do whatever it takes to get back on the field and help my team."

The Lions are expected to provide an official update on Moseley's status later this week.
